Water Damage and Flooding
Water damage or flooding of buildings can be categorised into several groups depending on risk hazard and damage potential. Water damage and flooding generally can be seen to cause primary and secondary damage but these issues often require specialist investigation over and above the use of visual assessments and moisture meters. Flooding for example is known to bring various health risks into homes which range form chemical to biological agents. Some of these agents are known to cause heart disease. Water damage and flooding migrates from the initial scene through evaporation and invariably rises higher in the building to be adsorbed into hydroscopic or absorbent materials.
